(Nothing But) Flowers

"All men are like grass, and their glory is like is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord stands forever."  (1 Peter 1:24)

As Believers, there are three identifiable areas where we face the most adversity: 1.) By the world, 2.) our flesh, and 3.) Satan.   Even though we have been "born again" through the living and enduring word of God, we will face adversity as long as we are living on this earth.  The question is, how do we remain hopeful during times of hardship and difficulty?

Many people mistakenly believe the material and physical items we collect on this earth will provide us the security we all long for.  It's only takes a matter of time for someone to pursue those things and realize that leaving God out of the equation only leads them to unfulfilled and broken dreams.  We can also follow the lead of other people we know or idolize, but it's only a matter of time before we realize that we need to place our hope in the One who remains steadfast and is able to keep all of His promises.

The above verse in 1 Peter sums it up in a nutshell; the all of us are only here on earth for a fleeting moment compared to the word of God that lasts forever.   We must make the time to dig deep into His word.  It's not just a group of stories, but a living, breathing word that can serve as our guide to survival despite any situation we encounter in our lifetime.
