Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised. (Psalm 48:1)
In our efforts to discipline our son, Elliott, we often have to "take away" his favorite toys, cartoons, or video games to achieve the desired behavior. While this is highly effective for a three year old, what if our Father did the same with our blessings?
God is the source of ALL good things. Thankfully, He doesn't play favorites and will never take something back after He graciously gives it to us. (I guess, that means the Auburn BCS Championship will stay, sorry Bama!!) God never plays games with our blessings either.
God may delay giving us something that we have asked for because it is in our best interest, or the timing was not in accordance to His perfect will. Sometimes, He doesn't give us what we ask for because He is working on refining our faith and growing us into more mature followers of Christ.
Praise God from whom all blessings flow; everything or hearts truly desire is possible through our loving and caring Father!
