Now as they observed the confidence of Peter and John and understood that they were uneducated and untrained men, they were amazed, and began to recognize them as having been with Jesus. (Acts 4:13)
Okay, so maybe it's a stretch to use a Joe Jackson song as the title for today's entry, but let me explain....Just think back to high school for a moment. What did you think when you'd see some guy dating a girl that was way out of his league? I think that people shared a similar reaction once they realized the type of people Jesus selected as His disciples.
Let's face it, Jesus had a pretty unimpressive group of men as His followers. The good news is that God specializes in using the unqualified to achieve the unimaginable. If you don't believe me, pick up a Bible and read. There are countless stories of people like Noah, David, Jonah, and Moses that did some pretty amazing things once they were filled with the Spirit.
God isn't looking for people that, by the world's standards, are impressive; He is looking for people that are submissive and willing to follow His perfect will. Regardless of how incapable or limited we feel, He can do great and wonderful things through us all!
