Have you ever noticed just how cynical most of the world seems today? There are numerous shows on television that pair people together with opposite views so that the arguments and debates are truly endless.
Everyone seems to have an opinion and if you aren't thinking the same way, something must be wrong with you.
The people of Jesus' generation shared the same attitude; no matter what He said or did, they took the opposite view. Just like long ago, many people today are living comfortable, secure and self-centered lives and listening to God presents a challenge.
Too often we justify our inconsistencies because listening to God may require us to dig deep and actually change the way we are living. We must humble ourselves and listen to God's gentle voice and seek His guidance; realizing that we are not the center of the universe.
