For What It's Worth

"Woe to the rebellious children," says the Lord, "Who take counsel, but not of Me, and who devise plans, but not of My Spirit"... (Isaiah 30:1-2)

Have you ever made a decision on your own that turned out to be a wrong one?  Sure, we all guilty of this, whether we will publicly admit to it or not.  Have you ever made a decision after seeking the counsel of someone else and still went against the grain and made the wrong decision?  I know that I have and the price can be costly.

Most people are familiar with the story of Adam and Eve.  Eve listened to the serpent and made a fatal decision to eat forbidden fruit from the tree in the garden of Eden.  Most advice comes from people we love and trust, sometimes it comes from co-workers and even outlets like the media that bombard our thoughts different perceptions and philosophies.  It's when we take our eyes off of the Lord that we can often choose to listen to the wrong advice and make costly mistakes.

We have to be cautious of deception and lies in today's world more than ever.  Stay grounded in the Word and let His truth guide you on all your decision making.
