Listen

Why do you call me,  'Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say? The man who hears my words is like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. But the man who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation.  The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.  (Luke 6:46-49)

I took a Dale Carnegie class several years ago and learned a valuable lesson-the best speaker is a listener.  I know sometimes I can dominate a conversation and at times feel that when I am pray, I am petitioning God for so many things that I do not take the time to listen to His voice.

God will speak with clarity to anyone who listens with an open heart. Trust me, He wants to speak to you too! I believe He desires to know us very intimately. To achieve this, we must read our Bible every day, and listen to the words the Lord impresses upon our hearts.
