The Weight of the World

Trust in the Lord from this time forward, even in Yah, the Lord, an enduring protector! (Isaiah 26:4 NET)

I work in the insurance industry and sell policies and coverage designed to protect people against sickness, accidents and medical catastrophes.  We live in a house that keeps us warm in the winter, cool in the summer heat, and provides protection from dangerous storms.  These same principles apply to our faith as it should be our protection from life's storms.

No one is ever guaranteed a life without conflict, stress, problems, or worry, in fact it's quite the opposite.  Jesus assures us "in this life we will face hardships, but take heart, for I have overcome this world."  Why do we have such a hard time turning our problems over to God?  Are we control-freaks?  Do we really believe that we can carry all of our burdens on our own?  God offers us a liberating alternative: "Cast your burden upon Me and I will sustain you" (Psalm 55:22)

We can all have unshakable peace in God, but it must come from a willingness to grow and mature a deep-seeded trust, love, and relationship with our Father.
