I Confess

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us.  (Titus 3:5)

I often find myself seeking God's forgiveness for my many shortcomings. When I have yielded to temptation or as we call it in the south, "sinned," God is the loving Father that will offer us the peace and wholeness we need to move on in our lives.

As Christians, we are not given a free pass to just "live it up" on earth and then go back to Him, repent and ask forgiveness.  It also doesn't mean that we will never have our screw ups or setbacks either.

What this means for followers of Christ is that we can always come to our loving Father, humbly confess our sins, and ask Him to free us from the guilt of our sins and He will always offer His help so that we do not do it again.

There is no amount of making amends that will ever compensate for our sins.  The cost was paid for "in-full" when Jesus was nailed to the cross because of our God that loves us so very much.
