"No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him" but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. (1 Corinthians 2:9)
I caught the nightly news last night for the first time in weeks and felt completely overwhelmed and down after I finished watching. War, death, floods, the oil spill, down economy, debate over an Islamic mosque near Ground Zero; those are the stories that I caught in about 15 minutes of viewing. It's really no wonder why so many people have such strong feelings of hopelessness and despair.
We really can not begin to fathom or imagine all that God has in store for us in this life and in eternity. "His Spirit"(the Holy Spirit) guides and comforts all those who know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. The time will come when a new earth and heaven will be created. Knowing that God keeps His promise to his people, we can look forward to our eternal future and press on, no matter what hardship we must endure on this earth.
Take heart because the world is NOT our final destination; the best is yet to come!!
