The Greatest Love Of All

"See that you do not look down on one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven." -Jesus (Matthew 18:10)

As a parent, we all look forward to those rare times when we are able to have a family member, friend, or babysitter watch the kids so we can enjoy some adult fun. We were blessed over the weekend because Alicia's parents took both boys to Atlanta on Thursday for some good ol' quality time with the grandparents. Alicia and I enjoyed going out to dinner and lunch, grocery shopping together, finishing Season 4 of Dexter, cleaning the house, and running errands that we normally couldn't do together with both children. By Sunday, the quietness in the house was deafening; we really missed both boys and were eager to welcome them home again.

Just being away from Elliott and Elijah for a couple of days made me realize what a blessing they truly are. It also made me realize that there are some days that I take that blessing for granted.  Our concern for children must match God's treatment of them and sadly, there are many children that are neglected and abused. Jesus clearly states that certain angels are assigned to watch over children, each with direct access to God.

The very least we can do is make time from our busy schedules to spend time with our children and show the love that God has for them....take the time and make time!
