I Am Free

Through Christ you have come to trust in God.  And you have placed your faith and hope in God because He raised Christ from the dead and gave Him great glory.  1 Peter 1:21

Being fans of everything  producer JJ Abrams does,  Alicia and I have enjoyed his new television series called Alcatraz.  Going on a limb here, I can’t imagine the overwhelming hope and freedom a prisoner from Alcatraz must feel when they suddenly find themselves transported through time, outside the walls of the prison.  (I cannot divulge much more information as it may be a spoiler to anyone interested in watching the program...) 

Our salvation is much the same as a prisoner on death row suddenly pardoned or set free.  We were all once spiritual prisoners facing eternal death because of our sin, but God gave us all the ultimate hope by forgiving our sins so that we can spend our eternal lives in heaven with Him. 

When life seems to be impossible, God provides us with eternal hope.  Without hope, we would give up.  Hope only requires that we trust in the One who is able to give it to us…
