The Arms of My Savior

God is not the author of confusion but of peace.  1 Corinthians 14:33

Our family went for an afternoon swim recently at our neighbor's pool.  Elijah, our youngest son, is almost seven years old now, but still requires some adult supervision as he has finally learned to swim on his own.  One of our good friends jumped in and scared Elijah as his expression quickly changed from a smile into a look of fear because he was scared and it caused him to slip off the float he was on. Once in the water, he must have gulped a large amount of pool water and began to choke a little...He was fine once I swam over to him and held him for a few seconds while he caught his breath.

You see, when one of us holds Elijah, he knows his parents and has absolute and complete trust in us.  As a growing child, he has a sense of security in his parent’s arms and is at peace.

Just like a child trusts his/her parents, trusting God is also at the heart of our peace.

If we have an opinion about God that breaks down our trust of Him, we may feel anxious or become confused.  When we trust God with every fabric of our being; knowing that He is good all of the time, we can be at peace with our loving Father.
