The Arms of My Savior

God is not the author of confusion but of peace.  1 Corinthians 14:33

Our family went for an afternoon swim recently down the street at the local access to Melton Hill Lake.  Elijah, our youngest son, is nine years old now, and while a decent swimmer, still requires adult supervision, especially at the lake.  One Elijah's friends jumped off the dock way too close to Elijah which caused him to slip off the float he was on. Once in the water, he must have swallowed a large amount of lake water and began to choke a little...of course he was fine once I swam over to him and made sure he was okay while he caught his breath. (Sorry folks but lake water is nasty)!

You see, when one of us holds Elijah, it brings him comfort as he knows his parents and has absolute and complete trust in us as his parents.  As a growing child, he has a sense of security in his parent’s arms and is at peace even as he quickly approaches his tenth birthday.

Just like a child trusts his/her parents, trusting God is also at the heart of our peace.

If we have an opinion about God that breaks down our trust of Him, we may feel anxious or become confused.  When we trust God with every fabric of our being; knowing that He is good all of the time, we can be at peace with our loving Father.
